In addiction to antibiotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the most common group that cause adverse drug reactions in children. Part of these reactions are hypersensitivity reactions, among which selective (allergic) reactions and cross-hypersensitivity are distinguished. Each type of hypersensitivity manifests itself with characteristic clinical symptoms. In diagnostics, in addition to detailed medical history, skin prick tests and intradermal tests are important. The oral provocation test remains the gold standard used to exclude NSAIDs hypersensitivity. The article proposes a detailed diagnostic algorithm for children with suspected hypersensitivity. An important aspect is the development of alternative anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic therapy in patients with confirmed hypersensitivity to NSAIDs.
